The mission of TEAM PODZ is to educate people of the devastating effects of Cardiomyopathy in young men and women. Our aim is to raise funds to increase awareness and to support research of this deadly disease. We also want to honor the spirit of a young man whom this disease took too early.
TEAM PODZ was formed by a group of family and friends of Dan Podczerwinski. Dan was 26 year old, full of life and was loved by all who knew him. He was the life of the party. He was also an excellent golfer. On Memorial Day, May 27, 2013, while at home with his parents, he slumped over and passed away. Dan was in the prime of his life and just starting to build his career with his father at P.S. & Associates. In an instant, this otherwise healthy and vibrant young man was gone, a result of undiagnosed cardiomyopathy.
To support this mission, his family and friends will be hosting the 5th Annual PODZ Memorial Golf Tournament on September 15th, 2018 at Stonebridge Country Club. The money raised will go toward cardiomyopathy research. Our team is hoping other lives can be spared through early screening, detection and intervention.
In addition to cardiomyopathy research, a scholarship fund will be established in Danís name at Benet Academy where he was a member of the golf team. It is the hope of TEAM PODZ to provide financial assistance to a student or students who would otherwise be unable to attend.
At this time, we ask you to join TEAM PODZ in its mission to fight back against the devastating effects of Cardiomyopathy by donating to the 5th Annual PODZ Memorial Golf Tournament. With your support, TEAM PODZ can help prevent the loss of life of other young people.
